Louise Day - Professional Speech Therapist

Louise Day is a specialist children’s speech and language therapist and qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist from Queen Margaret University in 2014.

Louise is a fully registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC), Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and Association for Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).

She has eight years experience as a speech and language therapist working in schools, homes and clinics helping children express themselves.

Specialising in working with Autistic children, children with learning disabilities and developmental delay, Louise has a particular interest in supporting non speaking children communicate using alternative methods.

Louise began her private practice in 2021 because she wanted to help families in a more tailored way, working with them long term and seeing better results.

Louise has been involved in training many professionals including delivering the Early Communication Matters training for early years staff. She continues to provide education via social media for parents and professionals. She delivers workshops in a range of topics including signing, early interaction and using visual supports.

Louise’s approach is evidence based and strengths focused. She involves parents and professionals in the process working together to meet the needs of the child. Louise lives in Edinburgh and is a mum of two young children.
